I am currently reading Last of the Mohicans by James Cooper.
1. (Ended on pg. 135) The conflict in the book where I am at was caused by the main
characters (Duncan Heyward, Cora, Alice) being captured and were about to be
killed when their Mohican guides came to their rescue. They were captured
because another one of their guides set them up and tried to use them as
blackmail. When they refused to the terms of the deal they were about to be
killed when they were saved.
2. (Ended on pg. 138) The character Uncas changes in this section by going from a little shy boy to a fearsome warrior. He greatly helped them (Duncan Heyward, Cora, Alice) escape from their captives.
3. (Ended on pg. 142) In the book currently they are making their escape from where they were held to a safer place deep within the woods. They are quickly following a long twisty path in the forest to outrun any bad guys that might be following them. The words being used in this section give a sense of this being a scary, bad place to be.
4. (Ended on pg. 148) They have safely made it to an old abandoned fort which only about two people know where it is. The fort is in great disrepair. One of the walls and the roof have fallen down. They first uncover a natural spring. Then they build a small roof and beads for the women to sleep on in one corner. They are currently fortifying the fort against any enemy.
